Access Control

Role-based access control for every pharmacy team.

Give every team member exactly the access they need — nothing more. Admins, managers, cashiers, and doctors each operate within clearly defined boundaries that protect sensitive data.

Five roles built for pharmacy teams

Admin

Full access to all settings, users, reports, and financial data. Designed for pharmacy owners.

Manager

Access to operations: inventory, purchasing, suppliers, reports, and most POS features. No user management.

Pharmacist

POS, sales history and inventory view, plus shelf management and read access to patients and prescriptions.

Cashier

Counter access: POS, sales history, shelf view and the prescription queue for dispensing. Cannot view reports or settings.

Doctor

Access to the doctor panel: patients, prescriptions, and appointments. No access to financial data.

Access control included in every account

Five built-in roles

Admin, Manager, Pharmacist, Cashier and Doctor — each with appropriate permissions out of the box.

Route-level protection

Staff can only navigate to sections their role permits. Unauthorized routes redirect automatically.

Separate login credentials

Each team member has their own account. No shared passwords, no ambiguity over who changed what.

User attribution

Every sale records the staff member who completed it, so you always know who served each customer.

Instant role changes

Promote or restrict a staff member's role instantly. Changes take effect on their next page load.

Multi-tenant isolation

Your pharmacy data is completely isolated from other accounts. No cross-account access is possible.

Security from the ground up

Role-based access control works alongside JWT authentication, rate limiting, and multi-tenant data isolation. Read more on the security page or explore the full features overview.

Setting up your team

Every staff member signs in with their own account, and their role decides which parts of the system they can open.

  1. Invite staff

Create an account for each team member. Nobody shares a login.

  2. Assign a role

Choose Admin, Manager, Pharmacist, Cashier or Doctor. Each role comes with a sensible default set of permissions.

  3. Access is enforced

Staff only see the menu items their role allows, and protected pages redirect if opened directly.

  4. Adjust as people change roles

Change a user’s role when their responsibilities change. The new permissions apply from their next page load.

Why role-based access matters in a pharmacy

Protect sensitive data

Financial reports and settings stay with owners and managers. Patient records stay with clinical roles.

Accountability

Individual logins mean every sale, refund and change is linked to a person.

Simpler screens

Staff only see the tools they need, which makes training faster.

Safe for multi-role teams

Doctors, pharmacists and counter staff work in one system without seeing each other’s restricted areas.

Frequently asked questions

Admin, Manager, Pharmacist, Cashier and Doctor.

Can a cashier see reports?

No. Cashiers have the POS, sales history, shelf view and the prescription queue. Reports and settings are for Admin and Manager.

Choose pharmacy staff permissions by responsibility

Role-based pharmacy access gives each staff member the functions needed for their work. Review access whenever someone joins, changes responsibility or leaves.

  1. Create individual staff accounts rather than sharing an administrator login.
  2. Check permissions using a safe test workflow for each assigned role.
  3. Remove obsolete access promptly and review who can make sensitive changes.
